History of Vancouver Brass Ensemble

French HornThis brass ensemble started as an offshoot of the New Horizons program in 2006.  In those days, it consisted of two trumpets, an euphonium, a trombone and a tuba.   It was a group who enjoyed getting together and practicing once a week for their own amusement.

The group acquired a french horn player in 2008 and a saxophone practice buddy in 2009, to play the parts of missing ensemble members during practices.  The current members have been together since 2011 and consist of a brass quintet and a saxophone taking the sixth part when necessary.  They enjoy performing wherever they can find an audience, usually at area retirement communities.
