ToddFirst Trumpet: Todd

Todd has been playing trumpet since third grade at the Parkrose School District in Portland, Oregon.  He was a member of the Oregon All-State Band, of the McDonald's All American High School  Band, and played in Wind Ensemble at Stanford University.  Todd took up the trumpet again after he retired from high tech as a Vice President of Engineering at Logitech in 2006.  He currently plays in the Minidoka Swing Band.  Todd joined the group in 2007.

TimSecond Trumpet: Tim

Tim has been involved with music since the second grade, starting with piano lessons.  After plodding through many instruments, he finally got hooked on the (French) horn.  He taught Band and Elementary Music for 35 years in Anchorage, AK, and Roseburg, OR.  While teaching, he played horn with many music groups including the Anchorage Symphony, Anchorage Horn Club, Umpqua Symphony, Roseburg Community Band, Roseburg Chamber Brass where he was a founding member, and trumpet and alphorn with the Roseburg German Band for 15 years.  Since moving to Vancouver in 2009, Tim has payed with the Battleground Community Band, the New Horizon's Band, and the Vancouver Brass Ensemble.  He also has substituted on both horn and trumpet with the Oregon Sinfonietta and on trumpet with the Clark College Orchestra.  For a change of pace, he occasionally can be found playing the alphorn, garden hose or conch shell.

DougFrench Horn: Doug

Doug has been a member of many community and city groups while also pursuing a career in electrical engineering. He is currently a project engineer at Linear Technology.  He has found excellent groups to play with everywhere his engineering job takes him, most recently with the Central Oregon Symphony, Cascade Concert Band as well as a founding member of the Cascade Brass Quintet in Bend, OR.  He also enjoys helping out with music programs such as HS jazz bands, church brass and bugling programs.  He currently plays the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony as well as the Vancouver Brass Quintet, various church brass groups.and other community bands such as the Westwinds Community Band.  He joined this group in 2007. 

 

RogerTrombone: Roger

Roger is a CPA in Battle Ground, WA. He has been playing with Vancouver Brass Ensemble since 2008. He is also involved with other musical groups including the Battle Ground Community Band, Lewis River Dixie, Christian Youth Theater (CYT), Metro Performing Arts Academy (MPAA), and other local groups and events.

 

 

 

 

RobinTuba: Robin

Robin is a retired plastic molding engineer, trained as a civil engineer from Stanford University.  He has played in many area groups including Clark College Wind Ensemble, Battleground Concert Band, New Horizons band, as well as in dixieland and German bands.  Robin is an original member of the group.

 

 

 

 

ElaineSaxophone: Elaine

Elaine worked in biological research before raising her three children full time.  She currently plays in the Vancouver Pops Orchestra, Westwinds Community Band, and the Minidoka Swing Band and joined the group informally in 2008, since saxes are not usually found in brass ensembles.
